Effies India 2010

>> Saturday, December 18, 2010

Call it the Filmfare or the IIFA of the advertising world (minus the excessive bling and drama of course!), it is the forum where the best and the most effective marketing ideas are honored year on year. The competition as always was fierce, the battlefield, where creativity knows no boundaries, wide open and only the toughest horses emerged winners at the Turf Club in Mumbai.

2010 was undoubtedly the year of some of the finest advertising stories in India. Whether it was the Vodafone Zoo Zoo story or the Tata Docomo “Dare to Do the New” campaign, it was all about making ideas work in the most creative way.

With over 2000 entries and about 65 awards to give out (Numbers Source : www.adclubbombay.com) – the setting seemed perfect! Organized by the Advertising Club Bombay, the 10th Annual Effie Award Ceremony turned out to be a dazzling evening, where the creative geniuses and clients were both present in big numbers to witness the action first hand. In the end, Ogilvy & Mather dominated the night and went home victorious and deservedly so with a total of 145 points in its kitty. Lowe Lintas and the Mudra group had to settle for second and third place with 90 and 75 points respectively.
